The Brotherhood Champion

Aldrik Voldus is the senior Brotherhood Champion of the Anvil of Vigilance — one of the eight Brotherhoods that make up the Grey Knights chapter. He is, by Grey Knights ranking, one of the most powerful psyker-Astartes currently active in the loyalist ranks, exceeded only by a handful of fellow Grand Masters and by Mephiston.

He wields the Malleus Argyrum — a force-hammer of pre-Heresy Mechanicus manufacture, capable of striking with psychic resonance that no Daemon-grade armour fully resists.

Era Indomitus

Voldus has been one of the busiest Grand Masters of the Era Indomitus. The opening of the Cicatrix Maledictum flooded Imperial space with daemonic incursions on a scale the Grey Knights had not previously needed to address simultaneously. Voldus has personally led banishment operations across multiple sectors and has, by Inquisitorial confirmation, banished at least three Greater Daemons in single-combat resolution.

He has cooperated with Guilliman on multiple critical engagements where conventional Astartes intervention was insufficient. The cooperation has been smooth — Guilliman appreciates effective work — but Voldus answers ultimately to the Ordo Malleus rather than to the Imperial Regent.

The Anvil

The Anvil of Vigilance under Voldus's command operates primarily in the Sanctus Wall fortifications and the deeper Imperial Sanctus, intercepting daemonic incursions before they can establish foothold. The Brotherhood is, by Grey Knights internal accounting, the most operationally engaged of the eight in the current era.

Voldus is rumoured to be in line for Supreme Grand Master succession when the current Supreme Grand Master eventually steps aside. The succession has not yet occurred.

M42

Voldus continues to operate at the frontline of the Imperium's daemon-hunting effort. He maintains, by Grey Knights tradition, the public anonymity that the chapter's mind-wipe protocols require of all engagements. His official record of accomplishments is therefore much shorter than his actual record.

He is, by Ordo Malleus assessment, the single most effective Greater-Daemon banishment-capable officer the Imperium has fielded since the founding of the chapter.
