Pedro Kantor

The Long Service

Pedro Kantor has been Chapter Master of the Crimson Fists since M37 — over a thousand years, longer than any of his peers among the Imperial Fists' successor chapters. He took the seat as a relatively young Chapter Master and has held it through more campaigns than any of his Marshalat is willing to summarise without files.

His defining career-shaping event came late, in 989.M41, when an Ork WAAAGH! struck Rynn's World and a defensive missile triggered the chapter's own ammunition store. Most of the chapter died in a single afternoon.

The Long Recovery

Kantor's response to the Disaster of Rynn's World was the one decision he is best remembered for. He did not retreat. He did not request reinforcement. He led the survivors — perhaps a hundred battle-brothers — into a guerrilla campaign across the ruins of the planet that lasted two months and ended with the chapter's remnant still functional when the Imperial relief force arrived.

He has spent the subsequent two and a half centuries rebuilding the chapter. The Crimson Fists are still under-strength. Kantor accepts this. He continues anyway.

Dorn's Arrow

Kantor carries Dorn's Arrow — a master-crafted bolter inherited from the chapter's founding, said to have been forged on the Phalanx in Dorn's presence. He has fired it across two thousand engagements. The Imperial Fists' senior Tech-marines maintain it for him when its rotations require maintenance no Crimson Fists Tech-marine is currently old enough to perform.

He is, by reputation, the most calm Chapter Master alive. The Rynn's World disaster appears to have used up his capacity for panic.

M42

Kantor has accepted Primaris reinforcement in considerable numbers — the Crimson Fists are one of the most thoroughly Primaris-integrated chapters of the Imperial Fists' lineage. He continues to rebuild from the recovered Phalanx Inheritance. He answers when the Imperial Fists' Last Wall protocol is invoked, and otherwise commands from a still-rebuilt Arx Tyrannus.

He is, by every Imperial measure, the most quietly stubborn loyalist Chapter Master in active service.
