The Phaeron
Imotekh awoke from biotransference-sleep earlier than most Necron overlords, around the time of M41's general awakening cascade. He immediately set about consolidating the Sautekh Dynasty — the most militarist of the major Necron dynasties — under his personal command. Within decades he ruled eighty Tomb Worlds and several inter-Tomb-World fleet formations.
He is, by general Necron measure, the most institutionally functional Necron commander currently active. The Silent King's reclamation programme has accommodated him rather than subordinated him.
The Stormcaller
Imotekh's personal weapon-of-presence is the Stormcaller mechanism — Necron technology that generates electrical storm-systems in a planet's atmosphere prior to ground engagement. The storms blind enemy auspex, ground enemy air assets, and inflict steady lightning casualties on defensive formations as the Necron landing-force approaches.
The technique is signature. Imperial defensive doctrine in Necron-contested zones now includes specific anti-Stormcaller measures whose names are sealed in Mechanicus archives.
The storm precedes me. The storm announces me. The storm is the courtesy I extend before my arrival.
— Imotekh the Stormlord, attributed Damocles incursion
Conquests
Imotekh's eighty Tomb Worlds were acquired through a mix of treaty (some Necron Phaerons subordinated themselves to him to avoid being conquered), conquest (others did not subordinate and were conquered anyway), and rescue (he liberated several Tomb Worlds from Imperial occupation or Chaos infestation, accepting the local Phaeron's allegiance as the price of liberation).
The acquisition pattern resembles, more than anything else, a deliberate empire-building campaign on the model of an ancient terrestrial king. The Imperial War Office finds the comparison apt and unsettling.
M42
Imotekh has been the senior Necron field commander throughout the Era Indomitus. He fought Anrakyr the Traveller's reclamation campaigns to a productive truce; he has engaged Imperial forces on multiple worlds; he has, on at least one documented occasion, cooperated with the Silent King's personal force against a shared C'tan-shard threat.
He is, by all available analysis, the Necron individual most likely to outlive the current Imperial generation of senior officers.
