The Pyrrhian

Anrakyr was Overlord of the Pyrrhian Dynasty in the pre-biotransference Necrontyr era. The Pyrrhia were one of the most distinguished pre-transference dynasties; their accomplishments included some of the most refined Necrontyr engineering of the late biological period.

The Pyrrhia fell during the C'tan-Necrontyr alliance and the subsequent C'tan betrayal. Anrakyr survived the period intact but emerged from biotransference-sleep with what can only be called a moral conscience. He spent considerable post-awakening time considering what biotransference had cost him personally and his people collectively.

I was wrong to accept biotransference. So were we all. I cannot undo the choice. I can apologise for it.

— Anrakyr the Traveller, attributed early reawakening

The Traveller

Anrakyr's response to his conscience-revelation was to leave his own dynasty and travel — between Tomb Worlds, between dynasties, waking each in turn and offering reorganisation under coordinated Necron command rather than independent dynasty operations. The offering has not always been accepted. Anrakyr has, on several occasions, woken Tomb Worlds whose occupants then refused his command and went to war against him.

He accepts these conflicts as part of the work. He generally wins them. He has, in his long campaign, conscripted a wandering host of Necrons from multiple dynasties who follow him voluntarily rather than out of dynastic loyalty.

Method

Anrakyr coordinates with Imotekh the Stormlord at the strategic level and operates independently at the tactical level. He carries the Voidreaper — a Necron great-weapon with phase-blade properties — and is accompanied by Triarch Praetorian honour-guards.

He is, by Necron internal politics, the figure most likely to mediate disputes between Phaerons. He is also, by personal preference, the Necron Overlord most willing to extend limited cooperation to non-Necron forces when the cooperation serves long-term Necron reclamation goals.

M42

Anrakyr has been active in the Era Indomitus across multiple Tomb World reawakening operations. He has cooperated with the Silent King's reclamation programme without subordinating himself to it. He has fought Imperial forces, Tyranid splinter-fleets, and Chaos warbands as required.

The Imperial War Office classifies him as the most negotiable senior Necron Phaeron active. Multiple Inquisitorial proposals for limited cooperation against shared threats have been informally floated. None have been accepted. None have been definitively refused.
